Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs kicked off its much-anticipated March Breaktime Celebration on March 5, 2025. With over 250 attendees from its 15 offices nationwide, the event was a momentous occasion to reflect past achievements and embrace new beginnings throughout the month. This time we are not only celebrating Woman’s month but also marks the beginning of the Lenten season.
The celebration began with a solemn Holy Mass led by Father Ogie Orpiada. It was a truly blessed and meaningful occasion for AOC, as the March Breaktime Celebration coincided with Ash Wednesday. The message of the Mass reminded everyone that when God is with you, you become a source of mercy and an instrument to proclaim the Good News. This made the gathering even more special, inspiring attendees to embrace faith, kindness, and purpose in both their personal and professional lives. The event continues as Mr. Marvin Cadapan, warmly welcome everyone and greet all employees especially woman who embody purpose and passion on every aspect of life. As part of the monthly program, the event featured the introduction of new hires, the celebration of March birthdays, and the recognition of employees celebrating significant milestones and anniversaries at AOC.
The AOC WinStories honor auditors who demonstrated dedication, excellence, and teamwork during the busy season. Congratulations to Jeremy Aguada and Luciene Patrice Carpio from AOC Makati Audit, Diane Dela Vega from AOC Cavite, and Darryl Jamiel Jacob from AOC Ortigas— the first in their teams to release the Audited Financial Statements (AFS) ahead of time. They shared their experiences of meeting tight deadlines, managing heavy workloads, and overcoming document-related challenges. Through teamwork, collaboration, and guidance from their managers, they showcased resilience and a commitment to excellence.
Audit Manager from AOC Cavite, Jonas Bravo, delivered an inspiring message, motivating auditors to stay resilient and committed during the busy season. Audit Partner, Loraine San Pedro, also shared thoughtful insights and practical tips to help the team navigate challenges with confidence. And our very own CEO, Marycris Oplas, expressed heartfelt gratitude, recognizing everyone’s unwavering dedication and hard work.
As we celebrate a woman of purpose, we were honored to welcome Sister Joanalyn Silverio, CPA, FMA, as a special guest. She shared her powerful, true-to-life story of how God’s grace works at all times. From a conventional path to career success to an extraordinary journey of faith and purpose, Sister Joan’s inspiring transformation moved everyone in attendance.
Formerly the head of the AOC Outsource team at Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs, Sister Joan’s life took a remarkable turn when she answered a higher calling and embraced a religious vocation. In her heartfelt reflection, she spoke of how her quest for meaning led her to experience God’s personal love—a transformative encounter that inspired her to devote herself fully to His will. Choosing to leave a thriving career to enter the convent was not an easy decision. Sister Joan faced challenges not only within herself but also from her family, especially her parents. Yet, she remains steadfast in her belief that when God calls, His plans are powerful and unwavering, guiding everything to fall into place according to His divine purpose.
Lastly, the breaktime ended with a lively icebreaker game led by Rogielyn Barroga, adding fun and interaction to the virtual celebration. Overall, the celebration of Women’s Month at AOC was both meaningful and purposeful for all female employees. The virtual gathering reinforced the company’s commitment to supporting and celebrating every employee. This break time was not just an event, but a gathering filled with purpose, strengthening relationships among everyone.
