Bright Future Ahead: AOC Legazpi Meets Chairman’s Scholar

May 21, 2025 – The AOC Legazpi Partner in Charge Nathalie R. Lupango (NRL) had the opportunity to meet Jessica A. Llantino, a scholar of AOC Chairman Donnies Alas. This meeting marks a promising step towards Jessica’s brighter future.

Jessica’s story is one of resilience and determination. Jessica grew up without a father and was raised by their mother by selling turon and other kakanin. Despite these circumstances, she remained motivated in her dream of becoming both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Lawyer.

Although Jessica initially planned to be a working student, the demanding BSA program required her full attention. A consistent Dean’s Lister and active in extracurriculars, she didn’t qualify for a tuition discount as the required GWA was 1.3.

Understanding the financial constraints, Jessica took the initiative to seek out scholarship opportunities. Her efforts paid off when she was noticed by Mr. Alas himself. He recognized her intent and instructed NRL to connect with her. Jessia was surprised to learn that there is an AOC branch in Legazpi now and was impressed by the firm’s profile.

Despite hardships, Jessica’s grit, passion, and growth mindset shine through. Inspired by AOC Legazpi, she now dreams of joining the firm—an aspiration Partner-in-Charge NRL sees as a promising match for the team.

As always, Mr. Alas is ever supportive of the AOC Legazpi Branch. He remains committed to developing local talents that he can hone through various support – from OJT experience, upskill to expertise in cross-training opportunities.

With the support of her scholarship and the encouragement of organizations like AOC, Jessica is on track to achieve her dreams. Her story serves as an inspiration, not just for aspiring professionals in the field of accountancy and law, but for all who believe that circumstances do not define one’s future.
