AOC Legazpi’s Meaningful Museum Visit

AOC Legazpi’s Meaningful Museum Visit

On July 20, 2025 – Ahead of the 2025 Founding Partner Connect with CEO Marycris Oplas, the AOC Legazpi team took the opportunity to explore key cultural landmarks in Manila, visiting the National Museum of Anthropology, the National Museum of Fine Arts, and the National Museum of Natural History.

Associate Auditors Leojelaine Igcoy, Fely Joy Ballon, and Kristel Anne Ballaran began their museum visits with an appreciation for Philippine history and culture, but walked away with deeper insights into their role as external auditors. At the Museum of Anthropology, they were reminded that just as every tribe has a unique story, each client has its own context—highlighting the need for understanding systems, people, and culture in audit work.

At the Museum of Fine Arts, artworks like Juan Luna’s Spoliarium underscored the importance of observation. They reflected on how professional skepticism isn’t about mistrust, but about seeing beyond the surface—identifying risks, inconsistencies, and deeper meanings that numbers alone can’t reveal.

Finally, the Museum of Natural History brought it all together. The interconnectedness of ecosystems mirrored how organizations function—where every part affects the whole. The visit reaffirmed their responsibility to uphold public trust, protect integrity, and ensure sustainability in the work they do.

What began as a simple cultural tour evolved into a meaningful experience—one that deepened their appreciation not only for Filipino heritage, but also for the responsibility and purpose behind their role as external auditors.
