AOC Kicks Off 2024 with Optimistic Break-Time Celebration

On January 5th, 2024, Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs began the year with an optimistic January break-time celebration. The event kicked off with a meaningful and encouraging mass officiated by Father Ogie Orpiada. Following the mass, Marvin Cadapan, the event moderator, welcomed all the employees and staff in attendance, marking the start of the break-time celebration that featured “Hello 2024”, signifying the commencement of the new year.

At the first Breaktime celebration of the year, AOC warmly welcomed newly hired employees, thus expanding their ever-growing family. This event also served as a platform to recognize the work anniversaries of employees who served in the month of January and the celebrants’ birthdays. Furthermore, it presented an opportunity to commend the hard work and dedication of the long-standing employees who have made substantial contributions to the growth and success of AOC over the years. Then, as part of AOC’s ongoing commitment to amplify and promote sustainability, the Makati Audit and Cabanatuan Team presented this month’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) series. During the presentation, the team shared their insights and practices geared toward environmental preservation by adhering to the Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Repurpose principles. By implementing these practices, the team has contributed significantly to the well-being of the environment.

During the breaktime, remarkable #AOCWinStories were shared among the attendees, who were thrilled to welcome Nathalie R. Lupango as the Partner in Charge of Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs’ newest Legazpi City Branch. The attendees expressed their excitement and anticipation for the new branch under the leadership of Nathalie and conveyed their confidence in her ability to continue Alas Oplas & Co.’s legacy of excellence and customer satisfaction. To kick things off and add excitement to the event, Rogielyn Barroga, the game master, initiated an exciting icebreaker activity that got everyone involved and pumped up for the rest of the day. The activity, dubbed “What’s the English Of?” required participants to guess the English translation of common phrases and expressions in their native language.

As the meeting drew to a close, Jenny C. Catapang, Managing Director of Human Resources, announced some important reminders pertaining to the MiHCM system. Additionally, it was emphasized that logging in to the system regularly was vital to check for any updates or notifications from the HR department. These reminders were fundamental in ensuring that employees made the most of the MiHCM system and kept their records up-to-date.

The January breaktime celebration marked a vibrant start to the new year, encapsulating moments of welcoming new staff, recognizing work milestones, promoting sustainability, and fostering camaraderie. This event exemplified Alas Oplas & Co., CPA’s culture of excellence. With the generated optimism, the company looks forward to even greater success ahead.
