AOC Honors Mothers in May Breaktime Celebration

AOC Honors Mothers in May Breaktime Celebration

Alas Oplas & Co., CPAs celebrated the May Breaktime on May 7, 2025, with the heartwarming theme “Breaktime for Mom.” Gathering over 190 employees from 15 offices nationwide, the event offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on past achievements and embrace new beginnings—centered on honoring the role of mothers.

To set a meaningful tone for the day, a Holy Mass was celebrated by Reverend Father Ogie Orpiada. In his homily, he reflected on the responsibility that comes with the upcoming elections. He encouraged everyone to vote wisely, reminding them that just as God gives what is good and right, we should also choose leaders who will promote the welfare and order of the nation.

Following the Mass, Marvin Cadapan warmly welcomed all participants, extending heartfelt greetings on behalf of the firm. The monthly program featured the introduction of new hires, the celebration of May birthdays, and the recognition of employees marking significant milestones in their journey with AOC.

The highlight of the event was “Spin the Wheel: Nanay Ko ’Yan!” where employees submitted photos of their mothers prior to the celebration and shared emotional stories during the program. These heartfelt tributes moved many, as they reflected the deep love, strength, and sacrifices of their mothers. While not all employees were able to celebrate Mother’s Day in person—some being far from home—they made sure to connect virtually, finding time to express their appreciation. The segment served as a touching reminder that love and gratitude can be felt, no matter the distance, and that presence—whether physical or virtual—matters most.

In today’s fast-paced world, “Breaktime for Mom” was a meaningful pause—reminding everyone of the deep bonds that connect families, colleagues, and communities.
