On July 14-15, 2025, Alas Oplas & Co., CPAsโthrough its Makati Tax Team and Iloilo Branchโsuccessfully conducted a two-day seminar in Iloilo titled โHandling BIR LOAs: Avoidance, Response, and Key Assessment Insights.โ Held at the 2nd Floor, Joethess Building, Lopez Jaena Street, Purok 3, Pavia, Iloilo City, the seminar was led by Tax Partner Fernando Santos, Iloilo Branch Partner-in-Charge Kimberly Noble, and Auditor Lalaine Ibanez.
The seminar was attended by 15 participants, including clients of the firm and representatives from various industries. The two-day seminar provided an in-depth learning experience: First day focused on strategies to avoid and effectively respond to BIR Letters of Authority (LOAs), while the second day covered common assessment findings on Withholding Tax and VAT. Participants gained valuable knowledge from seasoned tax professionals and former BIR examiners, empowering them to improve tax compliance and mitigate audit risks.
