AOC Legazpi Team Assists SORECO I & II in Congressional Audit Submission
June 5 and 20, 2025 – AOC Legazpi Branch reached a significant milestone with the upcoming presentation of the audited financial statements of its two major client electric cooperatives, SORECO I and SORECO II, to Congress as they renew their franchise, a 50-year grant that will expire in 2025.
On June 5, the team provided thirty-five (35) Certified True Copies of Audited Financial Statements to SORECO I. Subsequently, on June 20, forty (40) copies were given to SORECO II. In line with this, Partner-In-Charge Nathalie Lupango, along with Associate Auditor Ashley Marie Rances, held a short meeting with SORECO II to discuss and clarify the Management Letter Points (MLP), highlighting the key audit findings and their implications.
This achievement is a clear testament to the branch’s unwavering dedication and commitment to quality and transparency. Presenting these audited financial statements before Congress is a critical step in promoting accountability and ensuring that funds and resources are being managed effectively. It also serves as an opportunity for legislative oversight and to promote transparency within the electric cooperative sector.
For the auditors involved, this milestone is a proud moment. It is a validation of their hard work, professionalism, and integrity. It highlights the essential role auditors play in upholding public interest.
