New VAT Exemption IDs for Persons in the US Embassy

With reports of confusion among business establishments because of the layout of the VAT exemption IDs, known as VAT Exemption Identification Card (VEIC), which looked like issued by the US Embassy rather than the BIR, the IDs design were revised. The new look provides the logo of the BIR in the front, the VEIC control number and the phrase “EXEMPT FROM VAT ON PURCHASES OF GOODS AND SERVICES.” In the back portion of the ID now have the contact number of the International Tax Affairs Division (ITAD) for the questions and verification. Finally, all VEICs duly issued before the issuance of the circular shall remain valid until their expiration.
