Tax Advisory 2020-64: BIR Email Alert on Spoofing

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) issued an ALERT regarding SPOOFING from malicious emails perpetrated by phishers or scammers making it appear that it came from the BIR. These malicious emails lead to a fraud website that asks for confidential information like username and password details. BIR will never ask its users to log-in their accounts on BIR eServices through embedded links.

It is important to be careful on handling this emails, according to the bureau in case you receive an email similar to this sample and description, DO NOT CLICK the link and/or attachment, CLOSE the message immediately and DELETE it from your inbox.
