A Time to Celebrate: Alas Oplas & Co., CPA's December Breaktime Gathering
On December 6th, 2023, the December breaktime of Alas Oplas & Co. CPAs was conducted, beginning with a meaningful and encouraging mass that the esteemed Father Ogie Orpiada officiated. Following the mass, Aijah Melicha Rosales, the event moderator, welcomed all the employees and staff in attendance, signifying the commencement of the special Christmas breaktime celebration.
At the twelfth Special Breaktime celebration, new staff members were warmly welcomed into the ever-growing family of Alas Oplas & Co. CPA. This gathering also recognized the work anniversaries of staff members in December and the birthday celebrants. Additionally, it provided an opportunity to commend the hard work and dedication of the long-standing employees who have significantly contributed to the growth and success of AOC over the years. Then, as part of AOC’s continuous effort to achieve sustainability, this month is the start of an Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) series where the Business Setup Team and Compliance Team were featured, sharing their thoughts and practices by helping the environment in improving air quality through indoor plants and by conserving electricity or energy.
During the meeting, Nathalie Shane Iral and Glociel Jojo De La Cruz, Supervisors of the Makati Audit Team, shared noteworthy #AOCWinStories for successfully completing their secondment to Walker Wayland NSW Australia. During their two-month stay in Australia, Nathalie and Glociel were able to share their invaluable experiences, surmount challenges, and gain valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit the firm and its clients. Their achievements demonstrate their dedication and commitment to the company’s values and mission and serve as an inspiration to their colleagues. Alas Oplas & Co. CPAs is proud of their remarkable achievement and grateful for the knowledge and expertise they have brought back. In addition to this wonderful accomplishment, several announcements and reminders were made for the upcoming associate-senior meeting with AOC’s founder and CEO, Marycris S. Oplas, and the forthcoming Year-End Party. To kick things off and add excitement to the event, Rogielyn Barroga, the game master, prepared an engaging icebreaker activity, “Name The Christmas Song,” where everyone enjoyed participating.
Finally, Managing Partner Ryan A. Sabug graced the meeting, sharing the highlights of the recent BKR International 2023 Annual Worldwide Meeting, held in Washington, DC, from October 28 – 31, 2023, with the theme “What Will Your Legacy Be?”. Sabug’s engaging presentation was accompanied by personal anecdotes and experiences from the conference, which made the session all the more interesting. His motivational words inspired everyone in attendance and left them feeling energized and empowered to make positive changes in their work and personal lives. As the meeting drew close, Christianne Grizelle Poliquit, Payroll Associate of the AOC Paranaque Branch, presented a comprehensive introduction to the work timesheet through the MiHCM system.
As the December breaktime of Alas Oplas & Co. CPAs came to a close, everyone left the gathering with a sense of joy, accomplishment, and excitement for the upcoming events. It was a time to recognize hard work and celebrate achievements while also looking ahead to future goals and aspirations. With the ESG series, #AOCWinStories, and other activities, AOC demonstrated its commitment to sustainability, growth, and innovation. The meeting was a testament to the company’s values and mission, and it’s clear that Alas Oplas & Co.
